According to a recent special report released by MWE’s health law group (McDermott Health), microeconomic factors such as inflation, labor expenses, volatile markets, and supply chain issues are expected to negatively impact the healthcare industry in 2023.

In addition, healthcare changes that went into effect during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic will soon start unwinding, which is said to leave healthcare providers in a whirlwind of multifaceted changes.

McDermott Health has provided further insight on key topics to look out for in 2023 including opportunities presented by value-based care (VBC), innovative investments aimed at combating operational issues, and hospitals entering into non-traditional partnerships or service arrangements.
